The Ultimate Blog Party 2012

Hello and welcome to Cheryl Navalinsky Photography: The Blog. It's possible that you found me through The Ultimate Blog Party 2012 hosted by 5 Minutes For Mom.
If that's not how you found me you should go there and check it out. From now until April 20th bloggers can share their link on their site and then hop around checking out other peoples blogs. I'm pretty excited to get started. First a little about myself.
I am Cheryl Navalinsky of Cheryl Navalinsky Photography. Shocking, I know... I am a mostly stay-at-home mom with 2 kiddos. My son is 7 and in the first grade. My daughter is 4 but thinks she's in her mid-thirties. I love taking pictures and have done so since I received my first camera at the age of 7. I dreamed of one day being a photographer for Life or Thrasher. I went to Ohio State and studied photography until I ran out of beer money.
Through the years I've dabbled with different things. I've been a crafter for a while and have an etsy shop called Funky & Feisty Home Decor and More. Feel free to check it out I have some of my photo magnets on there.
It's only been in the last year or so that I've realized how much photography really does mean to me. I'd missed it and am now trying to get back into doing it a little more professionally. I use this blog to show off some of my photography. I welcome feedback. It's a bit of a 're-learning' process for me.
I'm actually holding a give away on my blog right now. It originally ran through Tuesday but I am extending it due to this Blog Party. I hope you will go HERE and check it out.
A big thanks to People I Want to Punch in the Throat (One of the funniest blogs I've ever read). It was through her that I found this Blog Party. You should definitely check out that blog as well. it will make juice come out your nose... Assuming you are actually drinking juice while reading it.
Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Thanks so much for stopping by blog. I trekked on over here and I love your photos! The kids are adorable. :)

How is the weight loss journey going? I'm in the same boat, but I don't have the balls to come public with mine. Eventually I will, I'm down 32 from my highest weight so far.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

    1. 32 lbs is awesome! I'm at 9.6 lbs. Damn that .4! ;) I actually get weighed tomorrow. I have a Facebook group that I started that has been super helpful. It's nice to know that you aren't alone.

  2. Hey Cheryl - So nice to 'meet' you from the UBP2012! I have added you to my reader and can't wait to follow. I grew up in Ohio (between Cincinnati and Dayton) and even though we were not OSU fans growing up...my family has become fans of late. Love your photographs of your kids...I think that is so important. Photography has been such a nice creative outlet for me since I have had kids. I can't wait to see more of your photographs!

  4. Thanks for stopping by our blog from the UBP! Good luck getting back into photography and with the weight loss. My freshman year of college I lost 50 pounds and have kept it off ever since. It may sound hard, but from my perspective it was really a lifestyle change. Continued success to you!

    1. Thanks! I have noticed that I am eating better. Much more produce. I would really like to start growing some of my own things but we don't have much space. For now I will rely on supporting the farmer's market.
